In the Director's Chair Sits a Woman

Société/Biographie, Israël 2020

Twenty-six Israeli women directors who have made feature films share their personal experiences in the director's chair. From Ellida Geyra - Israel's first female feature film director - to contemporary women directors, the film weaves together a corpus of women's voices that mirror each other, clash and diverge, culminating in a fiery speech by Ronit Elkabetz. Their stories form a diverse and cinematic quilt of patchwork female directors, giving us a multi-faceted picture of every woman who wants her story to be heard. This is a moving documentary that will motivate you to stand up and do something about the glass ceiling, both real and imagined.
